PARISH GROUPS
UNION of CATHOLIC MOTHERS meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 7.30pm in St.Peter's Parish Centre. Our meetings open with prayers and a warm welcomefollowed by Discussions and or visiting speakers. Throughout the year we fundraise for Charity,have outings to Madonna House and the UCM foundation at Filey. New members are always welcome why not come and join us?
SVP. St.Edward's Conference of the St.Vincent de Paul Society meets in St.Edward's Church Hall on the First & Third Thursdays of the month at 7.00pm.
There are also St.Vincent de Paul conferences based at St.Peter's and St.Joseph's Church.
Pastoral Council. Consists of 12 members of the Parish to assist and advise the Parish Clergy in planning for the needs of the Parish and in implementing the Pastoral Plan.Next meeting is Sunday 7th Feb at 4pm in St Peter's Rectory.
RCIA. Journey in Faith & Evangelium. To help those who wish to learn more about the Catholic Church with a view to becoming members or to help Catholics grow and deepen their understanding of the Faith. The Evangelium group meets on Sundays as advertised in the Parish newsletter at St.Peter's Parish Centre. The Journey in Faith group meets on Tuesdays at 7.30pm at St.George's Moor Lane,Eastfield.
Landings Group offers a safe ,comfortable "landing place" for Catholics who feel distanced from the Church and are thinking about coming back.The group meets on the last Thursday of each month in St.Peter's Parish Centre at 7.15pm.
PRAYER GROUPS. Divine Mercy & Rosary Prayer Group, praying for our children, grandchildren and all young people everywhere plus other intentions. Meets in St.Peter's Church 6.30-7.30pm.Again please check the newsletter for when the group is meeting.
St.Joseph's Prayer group meets in the Newman Room at St.Joseph's on Monday afternoons 3.00pm to reflect on the Scriptures, Catechism and to pray the Rosary.
Medjugorje Prayer Group meets at the Convent Moor Lane Eastfield on the 2nd and 4th Friday of each month. EMMAUS Scripture Study Group meets in St.Edward's Church Hall on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month at 2pm. Everyone welcome.
CHURCHES TOGETHER in SCARBOROUGH seeks to promote Unity amongst the Christian Churches of the town through Prayer and working together throughout the Year. Annual events include the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, The Good Friday Walk of Witness, Services at Pentecost and Easter amongst other opportunities to witness to our common Christian faith.
SCARBOROUGH PRO LIFE group works to promote the dignity of all human life and works closely with the Society for the Protection of the Unborn Child.
ST PETER'S LUNCHEON CLUB. Open to all parishioners and friends usually runs from October-May as advertised in the newsletter, Mass on a Wednesday at 11,30am followed by lunch in St.Peter's Parish Centre. Next meeting Feb 11th after the 11.30am Mass at St Peter's
MONDAY AFTERNOON TEA DANCES at St.Edward's Church Hall, Avenue Victoria. English Country Dancing for Senior citizens 2.00-4.00pm £2.00 includes tea and biscuits.
SCARBOROUGH PARISH YOUTH GROUP. Mrs Sara Rutter was appointed Parish Youth Worker & Lay School Chaplain at St Augustine's Comprehensive School and works with a team of volunteers to help provide for the Social and Spiritual needs of our young people. Sara can be contacted at St.Augustine's School on 363280. The YOUTH GROUP meets at the Auborough Room just down from St Peter's on Castle Road every Monday evening at 7pm.
