Welcome to the website for the Roman Catholic Churches in Scarborough.  In 2004 the decision was taken to almagamate the four parishes serving the town into one.  This process is still continuing.The town is served by four Churches; 

St Peter'sSt Peter's on Castle Road was opened in July 1858 and has just celebrated its 150th anniversary.  It is situated on the Headland in Scarborough not far from the Castle and the Anglican Parish Church of St.Mary's.

 

St Joseph'sSt Joseph's Church,Green Lane Newby was built in 1960 to serve the growing estates of Barrowcliff and the districts of Newby & Scalby.The Church was designed Francis Johnson of Bridlington and has recently been granted a Grade II listed building status.

St Edward'sSt Edward's Church  on Avenue Victoria was opened in 1913 and serves the Southcliff area of the town.

 

 

St Geroge'sSt George's Church is situated on Moor Lane Eastfield and serves the Eastfielsd estate and many of the villages on the outskirts of Scarborough.

 

The Moderator of the Scarborough churches is Fr William Massie. He lives at St Peter's Rectory on Castle Road (01723 360358)

The Co-Pastor is Fr John Bane. He lives at St Joseph's on Green Lane (01723 362632)
